Physical Therapy Assistant Certification (PTA) Exam
The exam is designed to assess basic entry-level qualification and competence of first time licensure or for registration as a PTA.
Proof of graduation from a physical therapist assistant program accredited center by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.
The Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy and South Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners must certify that the program is recognized and approved.
The examination is a computer based exam (CBE).
There are no penalty for wrong answers
The exam score is converted to a scale of 200-800
600 is considered the minimum pass mark
All questions are in multiple choice format

The exam is administered by Thomson Prometric throughout the year at locations around the country
The exam is four hours long
