College-Level Academic Skills Test (CLAST) Test Preparation
CLAST also known as the College Level Academic Skills Test is requirement by the State of Florida for students who are looking to qualify for the AA degree. This test measures college-level math and communication skills.
Exam Registration
The test is usually conducted at the College itself. Contact your College Admissions department for information about the test location, dates as well as the required fees.
Exam Details
• The exam is multi-choice format and includes an essay.
• You will be marked on sentence structure, grammar, punctuation, spelling and vocabulary.
• The essay portion is conducted three times a year.
• The math, sentence skills and reading tests are computer based.
Exam Score Format
• The scores from each section are amalgamated into one single score.
• The minimum required to pass is usually 265 on the CLAST scale.
• The reading test consists of answering questions after reading short passages. The minimum score is 260 on the CLAST scale.
• The Math section also has a required minimum score of 260 on the CLAST scale.
Exam Structure
CLAST has four sub tests:
• English language skills (ELS)
• Reading
• Mathematics
• Essay and Reading
