Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) Test Preparation
The Certified Health Education Specialist is held by professionals who conceive, assess and implement activities that improve the standard of health. The National Commission for Health Education Credentialing administers the CHES Exam.
The CHES examination is a paper and pencil based examination that is administered by the Professional Education Service Group (PESC) twice every year- April and October, in over 120 test sites across the Country. It is a three-hour exam with 150 multiple-choice questions.
Exam Content
The CHES tests competency in the seven areas of responsibility, assessing community, individual requirements for health education; planning effective health education strategies, interventions, and programs; implementing health education programs, strategies and interventions. Others are conducting evaluation research on health education; administering health education programs, strategies and interventions; serving as a resource person for health education and communicating and advocating for health education and health in general.
