Certified Professional in Health care Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) Test Preparation
CPHIMS certification is for health professionals in health information and management. CPHIMS was launched by Health care Information and Management Society (HIMSS).
Eligibility
Eligible candidates must have at least five years, with three of those years being spent in information and management. The candidate also has to gotten a Bachelor's degree. Candidates with a relevant graduate degree plus three years experience in information management systems can also take this exam. Two of the three years experience must be in health care. The CPHIMS test is highly restricted and only 120 candidates in health care management and information are permitted to take the test.
Information and management experience may be accepted in the following areas, information systems, e-health, administration management, clinical information systems and management engineering.
Exam Format
The CPHIMS test is administered via special lap tops provided at the exam venue. A total of 110 test venues are available throughout the US. The test runs through Monday through Friday with two tests per day. Each test session sits 30 candidates. Test results from the CPHIMS are a pass or fail format. Results are made available immediately after the test.
The CPHIMS test is made up of 115 multiple choice questions. Out of the 115 questions, only 100 of these account to the candidate’s final score. The other 15 questions are pre-test questions for future tests. The questions are selected based on required psychometric characteristics. Total test time is 2 hours.
