How to Pass the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program Gateway TCAP
The TCAP test covers a wide area of the student’s educational experience. Test areas under English include, test of basic skills in reading, language, vocabulary, spelling, word analysis and language mechanics. Students are assessed on their knowledge and skill of basic language and grammar structure and rules. Also tested is their ability to read fluently and spell according to their educational level. Apart from English, other test areas include, mathematics, science, mathematics computation and social studies.
The entire test is multiple-choice. Students are not allowed to carry in or use calculators during the math or science section of the test and the test sessions are timed.
