Pharmacy Technical Certification Board (PTCB) Test Preparation
The Pharmacy Technical Certification Board exam (PTCB) is organized and administered by the Pharmacy Technical Certification Board (PTCB) established in 1995. The exams are conducted at various Pearson Professional Centers
• Candidates must posses a high school diploma or an accepted foreign equivalent
• Candidates must not posses any felony convictions
• Candidates must also be free from any drug related convictions and misdemeanors. If either of these exist, they must be reported to PTCB
• Candidate's license must not have been suspended, restricted or revoked by state boards of pharmacy
• Candidates can register online for the PTCB exam
• Approved candidates will receive ATT (Authorization to Test) containing instructions on how to schedule an exam
• Assisting the pharmacist in serving patients 66% of the exam
• Maintaining medication and inventory control systems 22% of the exam
• Participating in the administration and management of pharmacy practice 12% of the exam
• The exam is computer based and consists of 90 questions.
• 10 questions are non-scored pretest questions and only 80 are scored
• Exam is timed for 2 hours. Actual exam is 1 hour 50 minutes with 10 minutes for exam tutorial
• A pass or fail result is displayed at the end of the exam
• A printed pass or fail result will be given to candidates before leaving
• The exam application fee is $129.00
