Need Help Studying for the Cardiac Medicine Certification Exam (CMC)?
The Cardiac Medicine Certification Exam is administered by the
AACN Certification Corporation. Certification is valid for 3 years. Applicants must be a current nationally accredited (NCCA or ABNS) clinical nursing specialist, such as
CCRN,
PCCN, CCNS, ACNPC,
CEN, ACNP, FNP, CPAN,
CRNA,
CNOR, CRNFA, APRN, or BC.

- Applicants must be a current unencumbered APRN or RN.
- Applicants must be a current nationally accredited (NCCA or ABNS) nursing specialist, such as CCRN, ACNPC, CRNA, CCNS, CEN, , ACNP, FNP, PCCN CPAN, APRN, CNOR,or BC.
- Applicants must have completed 1,750 hours in care of acutely or critically ill patients during the two year period preceding application.
- Registration can be completed online for computer based testing and must be submitted by mail for paper testing within or outside of the US.

The fees for the CMC exam are as follows: $135 for AACN members and $180 for nonmembers, $110 for retest or renewal by exam for members and $155 for nonmembers. Cancellation requests will result in a $100 fee being deducted from the application fee paid.
