North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX®)
Passing the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) is one of the requisites to becoming an officially licensed pharmacist in any of the United States. It is recognized and awarded by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) in Partnership with the Prometric Testing Network. The most recent revision for the examination was finalized between 2002 and 2004.

The examination itself features questions on three subject areas:
- The management of drug therapy to optimize patient outcomes (this comprises approximately 50% of the test);
- How to assure the safe and accurate preparation and dispensing of medications (comprising approximately 25% of the test); and
- The provision of drug information in the interests of promoting public health.
The NAPLEX is a computer based test. Most of the questions in the NAPLEX are in scenario-based format.

No. of Questions : 185 multiple-choice questions, each with five possible answers.
Duration: 4 hours and 15 minutes
When the examination is over, only 150 answers are used to calculate an applicant’s test scores. The candidate must answer at least 162 questions for their results to be considered.

The NAPLEX is a computerized exam. Multiple choice questions are presented one at time, and each question must be answered before the next questions is displayed.
Once you have answered a question, you cannot go back to previous questions.
