Professional and Linguistic Assessment Board (PLAB)

Are you a qualified doctor, wishing to migrate to the UK to practice? Do you have the necessary skills and knowledge to practice in the UK? You will need to undergo the Professional and Linguistic Assessment Board Test (PLAB). The purpose of this test is to check and confirm the professional’s English Language capability, fitness to practice, Knowledge, skill and experience, as well as other requirement that should make a doctor’s perform to the optimum in the UK.

The test consists of two parts: The first, which involves the single computer marked paper to a standard set using the Angoff method, and part two which consist of a 14 station objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) to test both communication and clinical skills. Part 1 must be passed before Part 2 is taken.
