Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) Exam Details

     •  You must be a Registered Nurse with a current, unrestricted license.
     •  You must have a Bachelor of Science, Nursing (BSN) Degree or another appropriate degree.
     •  You must have completed at least one of the following methods of study or practice:


Experiential Track

     •  You must have completed at least 1,500 hours of employment in the area of caring for patients with wounds in the past 5 years, with at least 375 of those hours completed during the last year.
     •  You must have also clocked in a minimum of 50 continuing education hours in wound care during the past 5 years.

Graduate Level Track

     •  A graduate level program in nursing must be completed with proof of at least two semester credits of course work in Wound Care.

Accredited WOC(ET) Nursing Education Program

     •  Ensure that you apply within 5 years of having completed the above program.

     •  Download and print an application form from http://www.wocncb.org/pdf/WOCNCB_handbook.pdf
     •  Complete, attach required supporting documents and mail the application materials to Applied Measurement Professionals, Inc. with accurate payment by the deadline.

     •  The examination is computer-based.
     •  There are 10 pre-test multiple-choice questions, which will not be scored.
     •  There are another 80 multiple-choice questions, which will be scored.
     •  You have 1.5 hours to complete the examination.

     •   General Principles of Assessment - 18 questions
     •   General Principles of Management - 23 questions
     •   Pressure Ulcers - 11 questions
     •  Lower Extremity Ulcers - 20 questions
     •  Other Types of Wounds - 8 questions
