Certified Nurse in the Operating Room (CNOR) Exam information
The Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) exam is a certification process that establishes a candidate as a professional nurse who is familiar and can practice in providing care to patients either before, after or during surgery. The Certification is an indication that the nurse is now able to meet the high standards in the nursing and healthcare profession as well as in personal achievement.
The Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification is administered by the CCI – Competency and Credentialing institute at www.cc-institute.org/
• The certification or re-certification process carried out by the CCI is not biased and is not dependent on the candidate’s race, nationality, creed, sex, lifestyle, color or age.
• If found ineligible, the CCI returns the candidates application along with the fee and also gives a valid explanation for the ineligibility.
• The Certification is valid for five years
• No BSN is required
• Candidates should have completed at least 2 years and 2400 hours in surgical practice.
• Candidates should be a licensed nurse with a valid license to practice in the country.
• At the time of application, the candidate should have been employed part time or full time in surgical nursing.
• In order to schedule an exam date, the candidate will have to put in an application for the test as well as make the fee payment.
• Well before your test begins you will get a letter from Prometric which will have the authorization to test (ATT).
• The ATT contains the candidate’s authorization number along with the web address and phone number through which you can schedule an appointment.
• Once you establish a contact with the testing center you will get the exam date and time, depending on the window chosen by you.
