Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) Test Preparation, Study Guide and Practice Test
The Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) certification gives recognition to nurses whose scope of knowledge goes far beyond any one practice. The exam and the certification is administered by the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses (AANN).
Exam eligibility
• Registered Nurse with a current license or equivalent.
• Clinical practice in Neuroscience Nursing
• Consultant, researcher, administrator or educator who has completed and can provide evidence of employment in the field of Neuroscience Nursing for at least 2 of the past 5 years.
Exam Details
• Both computer-based exam (CBE) and a pen-and-paper examination are available
• All questions are multiple choice
• 20 pre-test multiple-choice questions, which are not be scored.
• 200 multiple-choice questions, which will be scored on site at the end of the examination.
• The non-scored questions are not distinguishable from the scored questions.
• You have 3 hours to complete the examination.
Exam Registration
• As the examinations are conducted only once in the spring and once in the fall, make sure that you apply well in advance to ensure approval.
• You can register by logging on to http://www.isoqualitytesting.com/
• After registration is complete, print the confirmation notice with the User ID and Password.
• You must bring these to the testing center on the day of your examination

Exam questions have been devised based on two dimensions. They are disorders (given below) as well as intervention methods.
• Trauma 13%
• Cerebrovascular 23%
• Tumors 16%
• Immune/Infection 13%
• Seizures 2%
• Developmental/Degenerative 28%
• Other Disorders 5%
