Child/Adolescent Psych & Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Test Preparation
The Child/Adolescent Psych & Mental Health CNS Exam is organized and administered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The exams are conducted for ANCC by Prometric testing corporation.
Eligibility
• Candidates must posses a valid RN license from the US or a recognized equivalent from another country
• Candidates must posses a clinical nurse specialist master's, post masters or doctorate degree from a Child/Adolescent Psych & Mental Health program. The program must be accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)
• Candidates must have acquired a minimum of at least 500 clinical hours supervised by the faculty in a Child/Adolescent Psych & Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist program, which must include work in advanced health assessment, advanced pharmacology, advanced pathophysiology and clinical training in at least 2 psychotherapeutic treatment modalities

Exam Structure
• The exam is a computer based test with 175 questions
• Only 150 of these questions are scored, as 25 are pre-test questions

Application fee is $270 for ANCC members and $390 for non-members
