CardioVascular Nurse (CVN) Test Preparation, Study Guide and Practice Test

     •  Current, full and unrestricted 'Registered Nurse' license in the United States or equivalent.
     •  Full time practice as a Registered Nurse for a minimum 2 years.
     •  Accrued a minimum of 2,000 hours of clinical practice in the last three years.
     •  Completed 30 CE hours in cardiac vascular nursing within the past 3 years .

     •  The exam is conducted via computers at more than 300 Prometric test sites across the US 5-6 days a week.
     •  Candidates can apply anytime and can schedule exam online during a 90-day window for a  convenient time and location. 
     •  The current fee for the examination is $390 for initial certification and $350 for re certification for non member candidates. An additional $125 is charged for international test sites.
     •  Exam Scores are sent directly from the testing agency 2-3 weeks after the examination.
     •  Certification is valid for 5 years and candidates can apply for renewal 3 months before expiry of initial certification.

The duration of the examination (actual testing time) is 3.5 hours.

The exam comprises of 175 questions in multiple choice format.  150 are evaluated and scored for the current exam & 25 are pre test questions for future use.

     •  Communication  – 15 questions -10%
     •  Provision of Care – 64 questions  - 42.67%
     •  Patient & Family Care giver Education -16 questions -10.67%

     •  Leadership-    8  questions  - 5.33%
     •  Legal & Ethical Issues  -10 questions   -6.67%
