Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCA) Exam Information
The Certified Wound Care Associate (CWCA) Examination is organized and conducted by The American Academy of Wound Management (AAWM).

There are a number of different certifications and levels of certification.
Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB)
Wound Care Certification (WCC)
Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) This is the most general and includes:
Certified Ostomy Care Nurse (COCN), Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (CWOCN) Exams Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN), Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON),Certified Continence Care Nurse (CCCN), and Certified Wound
Exam eligibility
• You must be a Registered Nurse with a current, unrestricted license.
• You must have 3 years of clinical wound care experience and direct patient care.
• You must have a Bachelor of Science, Nursing (BSN) Degree or another appropriate degree.
Exam Registration
• Download and print an application form from http://www.aawm.org/pdf/CWCAExamAppChecklist.pdf.
• Attach your resume, 3 letters of reference, a detailed description of your professional experience and copies of professional licenses, board certifications and transcripts of your highest degree to the exam application.
• Complete the Testing Center application form with pencil.
• Complete the payment form.
• Complete and sign the exam application form and mail it with the Testing Center application form, the required supporting documents as well as the payment to AAWM.
• Ensure that all the application materials are in the same envelope.
Exam Details
• This is a computer-based exam.
• There are up to 150 multiple-choice questions.
• You have 3 hours to complete the examination.

• Physical Assessment - 25%
• Patient Preparation - 15%
• Treatment - 20%
• Patient/Caregiver Education - 30%
• Administration - 10%
