Neonatal Nurse Certification Exam Test Preparation
The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Certification is administered by the National Certification Corporation. Successful candidates can use the credential NNP-BC for a period of 3 years.
Exam Details
• The test is available both in a Computer- based format and a paper- pencil format.
• The computer based test is conducted Monday to Friday at 100 Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP) Assessment Centers located all over the country.
• The paper- pencil format of test is held at pre arranged test centers.
• The current fee for the examination is $250 for the paper- pencil version and $300 for the computerized one.
• Interested candidates can schedule and reschedule an exam appointment over phone or online at http://goamp.com/ within a 90 day from confirmation of their eligibility.
• Failure to take the test on the scheduled date results in forfeiture of all fees.
• A preliminary pass/fail score report is generated & given to candidates after the exam, followed by the final written results 21 days later.
• The certification can be maintained either by continued education in the specialty or by way of a re examination.
Duration
The exam is 3 hours.
Exam Format
• As of 2009, the core exam has 175 questions and the sub specialty 125 questions.
• The questions are evaluated for the difficulty level and ability level, which make up the pass/fail score. In addition, qualitative feedback on the content of the responses is also evaluated.
• Candidates are allowed a practice test before attempting the actual test.
