Pass the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) with the Least Amount of Studying
The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is a pre-entry examination which is used to measure the foundation academic knowledge and skills of individuals applying for the School of Nursing. Individuals will not be tested on any specific area of nursing knowledge or skills.
The TEAS exam is administered by the Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI).
Exam Registration
- You have to contact a school offering the examination in your state.
- You have to register for the examination as specified in the school of your choice.
- The exam fee is $25.
- You need a credit card in order to make payment for the examination.
Exam Details
- The examination is available in a computerized format.
- You are given 3 hours and 29 minutes to complete the examination.
- There are 170 multiple choice questions.
- There are 4 subtest areas: Mathematics, Reading, English and Science.
- The questions generally cover content from grades 10 – 12 in US high schools.
- Results are available immediately after the end of the examination.
- No calculators are allowed during the examination.
- You will be provided with scratch paper and pencil at the test centre.
Exam Contents
- Math - 45 questions - Whole numbers, metric conversion, fractions and decimals, algebraic equations, percentages and ratio/proportions
- Science - 30 questions - Science reasoning, science knowledge, biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, basic physical principles and general science
- English - 55 questions - Punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, contextual words and spelling
- Reading - 40 questions - Paragraph comprehension, passage comprehension and inferences/conclusions
