Certification exams for New Mexico include
3 Exams, which are collectively referred to as the New Mexico Teacher Assessment.
Candidates must successfully completing the secondary-level Content Knowledge Assessments in order to obtain a Secondary Education (Grades 7-12) license.
These include:
- Assessment of Basic Skills
- Assessment of Teacher Competency
- Content Knowledge Assessment
There are separate Content Knowledge Assessments, which need to be taken for non-ordinary teacher positions – such as School Counsellor.
All Assessments are scored using the same scale, in the range 100 to 300, with 240 being the minimum pass mark.
