Registered Polysomnographic Technologist Exam
A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) has been fully trained as sleep technologist who has met the credentialing requirements for the credentials by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists. To qualify for the registry examination, one must have had a minimum of 6 to 18 months paid clinical experience in polysomnograms performance or complete a program in polysomnography in a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs accredited institution.
Eligibility
There are three pathways for eligibility for the RPSGT Exam, the most common of which is a 6-month and 18-month experience in the field, with a completion of all 14 A-STEP Self-Study (online) Modules. Candidates must all hold a certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), with a hands on, practical training evaluation segment. Documentation is required.
Registration
Applications are available at www.brpt.org and can be completed online with credit card payment of $350, and an attachment of all the necessary documents, including the documentation of high school diploma or an equivalent secondary education.

In addition to test score results, candidates failing the exam will receive a fail kit. Candidates passing will receive a score report, certificate and pass kit. Pass or fail kits will be mailed to candidates within 20 business days of the end of the examination window.
