The Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES) exam is organized and administered by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) as a certifying program
• Candidates must posses an associate degree from a biomedical academic program with 2 years BMET work experience
• Or, candidates must posses an electronics technology associate degree with 3 years BMET work experience
• Or, candidates must have acquired 4 years BMET full time work experience
• To register candidates should first download and complete the registration forms

• Anatomy and Physiology 13%
• Medical Equipment Function and Operation 26%
• Public (employee, patient, visitor) Safety in the Health Care Facility 17%
• Fundamentals of Electricity, Electronics, and Solid-State Devices (Approx 17%)
• Medical Equipment Problem Solving 27%
• The exam is made up of 150 multiple choice questions
• The exam is timed for 4 hours
• Exam application fee is $295 per candidate
• Candidates will receive results within 6 weeks via mail
