Registered Dietitian (RD) & Dietetic Technician Exam Details and Information, Study Guide and Test Preparation


The exam focuses on the individual impact of food and nutrition, clinical treatment, education and research and state and community nutritional program administration.

Registration for the exam is $50, with an additional fee for late comers.  

 

Eligibility


For the Dietetic Technician, the minimum qualifications are, a two-year high school graduation with associate degree in dietetics, nutrition technology, food service administration or any related field, two years clinical food service experience in a health care facility under the direct supervision of a registered dietitian.



Exam Content and Format


Candidates are given 125 questions, 100 of which are graded and 25, for future exams.

The exam is divided into 5 areas:

     •  Food and nutrition sciences
     •  Nutrition care process and model-simple and complex conditions
     •  Counseling
     •  Communication
     •  Education and research
     •  Food service system and management.
