CAAT is required by some trade unions and employers as a requirement for employment or promotion. It can also be used to measure adult’s readiness for literacy education or vocational skills training.
CAAT is designed by Creative Organizational Design (COD). COD does not sell or administer the test to individuals. Various organizations or educational centers purchase group copies of the test and individuals can register through schools or organizations in your area. Contact Creative Organizational Design for details of test centers near you.
Candidates must be 18 years and above to take the test. CAAT can be taken by Canadian citizens, refugee claimants, landed immigrants, convention refugees and any individual with a valid work permit.
CAAT is also available in French. The French version is known as the Test de Rendement Pour Francophones
Spelling is important for any test! The CAAT doesn't test spelling but it might be a good idea to review your spelling.
Yes. A BASIC calculator is allowed. Check with the test provider to make sure the calculator you are planning to bring is permitted.

Is there an essay writing component to this test … or does the entire test consist of multiple choice questions?

Fleming Crew of Fleming College, where I can write the CAAT, did not allow me to use a calculator.
Depends on the school – always check for the details before the exam!
Is there a time limit for the test? If so, if you cannot finish the test in time can you finish the test at a later date?
Can I take the caat test again if I fail
Is there a time restriction for when a person can rewrite a CAAT exam? Do they have to wait to rewrite it?
I don’t see any information about that – I think it depends on the school
