The Canadian Citizenship Test is organized and administered by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) for all individuals applying to be citizens of Canada. The citizenship test is available in French, English and other official Canadian languages.
Candidates wishing to take this test must be between 28 and 54 years of age. They also must have met all the requirements to qualify for citizenship as stipulated by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
The test contains 20 multiple choice questions and is timed for 30 minutes. For more information on the test see here.
Candidates must answer 15 of the 20 questions correctly, which is a minimum score of 75% to pass the test.
The 20 test questions are taken from a pool of 200 prepared questions. The test would include questions based on: The rights and responsibilities of a Canadian citizen Canadian history Canadian political systems Canadian physical and political geography Questions about the applicant
Candidates who pass the test are invited to attend a citizenship ceremony within six months, or may be required to fill a residency questionnaire to provide additional evidence of residing in Canada.
Candidates who fail the test must wait three months before retaking the test. If they fail the test the second time, they are scheduled to meet a citizenship judge. The judge asks 20 questions and access if the candidate was able to correctly answer at least 15 questions.
