The HiSET® exam is composed of five sections, Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.

Language Arts – Reading

The HiSET® reading section has 4o multiple choice questions to be answered in 65 minutes.  Questions include passages from literary texts and informational texts

Reading Comprehension Practice

Language Arts – Writing

Questions in the Language Arts portion contains 50 multiple-choice questions and an essay question to be answered in 120 minutes.

English Practice

English Usage – 15 questions
English Grammar – 20 questions
Punctuation – 12 questions

The HiSET math section has 50 Questions to be answered in 90 minutes.   Questions include,  Numbers and Operations on Numbers, Measurement/Geometry, Data Analysis/Probability/Statistics, and Algebraic Concepts.
