The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is an admission requirement exam conducted by ATI and used by nursing schools to assess a nursing student’s ability to cope with nursing programs. The TEAS exam is a test made by ATI that is taken by nursing students as a pre-admission exam. The ATI TEAS test contains 170 questions (20 non-scored pretest questions) and you would have 209 minutes to complete the test. The test is made up of Reading section (53 questions for 64 minutes), Science section (53 questions for 63 minutes), English Language Usage section (28 questions for 28 minutes) and the Mathematics section (36 questions for 54 minutes).
A good TEAS test score varies from school to school. Each school determines their passing requirement. It is important that students try to score as high as possible.
Detailed TEAS results are made available online about 48 hours after taking the exam.
Each school determines how many times a candidate can retake the TEAS test and the waiting period between each test.
